Halloween: The Game Digital Deluxe Edition costs $59.99 USD, compared with $39.99 USD for Digital Standard. Deluxe adds two exclusive Civilian characters, an exclusive Michael Myers skin and other extras; eligible Deluxe pre-orders also include early gameplay access.
The official digital pre-order FAQ is the source for the contents below. The US PlayStation Store currently agrees with those two US prices. Local currency prices and store checkout terms can differ.
Standard versus Digital Deluxe
| Included item | Digital Standard | Digital Deluxe |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | Yes | Yes |
| Inmate Michael Myers skin | Not listed | Included |
| Richard and Alexis Civilian characters | Not listed | Included |
| Advance access to Final Girl Laurie Strode cosmetic | Not listed | Included |
| Halloween: The Game comic | Not listed | Included |
| Phantom Michael Myers skin | Digital pre-order bonus | Digital pre-order bonus |
| Early gameplay access from September 4 | Not listed | Deluxe pre-order benefit |
The $20 USD difference follows from the announced base prices, not a temporary discount. This comparison concerns digital products; a physical Collector's Edition is a separate package rather than another name for Digital Deluxe.
Which benefits depend on pre-ordering?
The Phantom Michael Myers skin is specifically a digital pre-order reward for both editions. According to the official FAQ, it will not be available to purchase after the pre-order period. That statement is narrower than saying every Deluxe extra disappears at launch.
Early gameplay access starts September 4, 2026, at 9 AM PT for the eligible Digital Deluxe pre-order. The general digital release is September 8. Buying Standard early should not be treated as qualifying for Deluxe access merely because the store calls it a pre-order.
Inmate Michael Myers, Richard and Alexis are listed as Deluxe contents rather than as Standard pre-order extras. Keep these two questions separate: which edition owns the content, and whether buying before launch adds a further benefit.
Characters and cosmetics are different extras
Richard and Alexis are described as exclusive playable Civilians. Final Girl is a cosmetic for Laurie Strode, not an additional character slot. Inmate and Phantom are Michael Myers skins, not separately confirmed killers with new ability kits.
For the base roster and the distinction between playable Civilians and town residents, use the character directory. This comparison makes no claim that an edition-exclusive character is stronger, easier or required to succeed. The reviewed purchase descriptions do not provide comparative character statistics.
The announcement also lists a game comic. Its exact delivery format and the contents of unspecified “surprises” are not established by the reviewed FAQ, so they are not expanded into invented items here.
Can Standard owners upgrade later?
The publisher says a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade will be available at launch, including the two exclusive Civilians and the Inmate skin. The reviewed FAQ does not establish a standalone upgrade price or separate individual-character prices.
An announced upgrade is not evidence that the Phantom pre-order skin becomes purchasable later. The same FAQ explicitly treats Phantom differently. Check the actual upgrade listing when it becomes available rather than assuming every pre-order entitlement is included.
Is this the same as the Collector's Edition?
No. The physical-edition FAQ lists different packages, cosmetics and physical goods with an October 6 release. It also says physical pre-orders do not qualify for the digital-exclusive Phantom skin.
Choose between digital and disc based on access date, hardware and the extras you actually want. The physical comparison explains those packages without assuming that Digital Deluxe contents carry over.
