Halloween: The Game Platforms — PS5, Xbox & PC

Halloween: The Game is announced for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. The September launch announcement names these platforms; the store comparison below uses US-facing listings, not a worldwide availability guarantee.

Choose the hardware and store first, then check the edition and the availability shown for your own account region. Platform support, online subscriptions, crossplay and disc compatibility are separate questions.

The physical-edition FAQ names PS5 and Xbox Series X for the October disc release. A disc requires compatible disc-reading hardware, so check the exact console model and drive configuration before ordering.

PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch are not in the reviewed launch-platform announcement. That is the scope of the confirmed list, not a prediction that another version can never be announced.

PS5: online play and controller features

The US PlayStation Store lists a PS5 version, one-player support and up to five online players. It also states that PS Plus is required for online play and lists DualSense vibration and trigger-effect support.

The online subscription requirement should not be read as saying every mode is multiplayer. A standalone singleplayer story is separately described in the store. Nor does support for five online players mean five cooperative Civilians: the announced match format is one Michael Myers against four Civilian players.

Xbox Series X and Series S

The US Xbox Store lists Xbox Series X|S support. It says console online multiplayer requires a qualifying Game Pass subscription, sold separately; the listing currently names Essential, Premium or Ultimate.

A subscription requirement for console multiplayer does not mean the game is included in that subscription's game catalogue. This page makes no Game Pass inclusion claim. Confirm the current entitlement text on your regional store before paying.

PC: Steam versus Epic

Both stores list Windows, with requirements covered in the PC specifications comparison. Steam's platform data does not list a native macOS or Linux release. No Steam Deck performance or compatibility result has been verified here.

Store feature and language lists should not be flattened into one universal promise. The Steam page currently lists ten supported text languages and English full audio, plus Steam Cloud. The Epic listing lists eight text languages and English audio. Check the store you will actually use if a language is essential.

What the cross-platform badges confirm

Xbox lists cross-platform multiplayer and co-op, and Epic displays a Cross Platform feature. Those are official storefront claims, so it would be inaccurate to say there is no official indication of cross-platform functionality.

However, the reviewed listings do not specify the full PS5/Xbox/Steam/Epic matchmaking matrix, cross-network invitation steps or cross-progression rules. Steam Cloud is not, by itself, proof of save transfers between consoles or stores. We are keeping a separate detailed crossplay page unpublished until those practical questions have reliable answers.

Regional availability needs its own check

US listings should not be used to promise a Japanese PS5 release. An August 30 official developer statement on X, quoted in a news report, says the Japanese PS5 release was cancelled after a domestic rating could not be obtained, while digital Xbox and PC remain scheduled for September 9 in Japan.

Direct X retrieval was unavailable during this check; that regional note relies on the reproduced developer statement, not a direct reading of the original post. Buyers in other regions should also verify their own store rather than infer availability from the US pages.
